Trustie works out of the box, but there’s plenty you can tweak to make it fit your needs perfectly. This page gives you an overview of every settings area and links to detailed guides where they exist.
Where to find settings:
- If you have Tracksies HQ installed: Tracksies > Trustie
- Trustie standalone: Trustie > Settings
—
Features (On/Off Toggles)
Control which parts of Trustie are active on your site.
Where: Tracksies > Settings > Features (or Trustie > Settings > Features)
| Feature | What It Controls | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Testimonials | Testimonial forms, display, and the Testimonials post type | On |
| Reviews | Product review display (requires WooCommerce) | On |
| Review Requests | Post-purchase email reminders | On |
| Google Reviews | Google Places API integration and display | On |
| Floating Widget | The slide-out reviews panel on every page | On |
| Moderation | Review moderation tools | On |
Turning off a feature you’re not using is like unplugging an appliance you don’t need — your site runs a little leaner and there’s less clutter in your admin.

Reviews Settings
Auto-Approve
By default, new reviews wait for your approval before appearing on your site. This gives you a chance to moderate content before it goes live.
- Auto-Approve ON: Reviews appear immediately — good for active communities where you trust your audience
- Auto-Approve OFF: Reviews need your approval first — better for public-facing stores where you want to check content
You can always change this later. Reviews pending approval show up in WooCommerce > Reviews.
Email Notifications
Enable this to get an email whenever someone leaves a new review. The notification goes to your site’s admin email (the one in Settings > General).
—
Testimonials Settings
Testimonials are general business feedback — not tied to specific products. They work without WooCommerce.
Form Fields
You control what appears on the testimonial submission form. For each field, you can set:
- Show — whether it appears on the form at all
- Required — whether customers must fill it in
- Label — the text that appears above the field
| Field | What It’s For |
|---|---|
| Name | The customer’s name (always required) |
| Their contact email | |
| Company | Their business name — great for B2B sites |
| Title | Their job title or role |
| Photo | A headshot — testimonials with faces feel more trustworthy |
| Rating | A star rating |
Tip: Keep it short. The more fields you require, the fewer testimonials you’ll get. Ask for what you genuinely need and leave the rest optional.
The “Copy to Google” Prompt
After someone submits a testimonial, Trustie can prompt them to also leave a Google review. One click copies their testimonial text, and another opens your Google Business Profile.
To enable this, you need your Google Place ID configured first — see Connecting Google Reviews.
—
Google Reviews
Connect your Google Business Profile to display those reviews on your website.
This is a separate setup process involving a Google API key and Place ID. Full walkthrough: Connecting Google Reviews
Quick settings:
- Sync frequency — how often Trustie checks for new Google reviews (default: daily)
- Minimum rating — only import reviews at or above this star rating
—
Review Request Emails
Automatically send a friendly email after customers make a purchase, asking them to leave a review.
This feature needs email delivery configured — WordPress can write emails, but it needs a delivery service (called SMTP) to actually get them to inboxes. Full setup guide: Review Request Emails
Quick settings:
- Enable/disable — turn email requests on or off
- Days after order — how long to wait before sending (default: 1 day, we recommend 7–14)
- Subject and message — customisable with placeholders like
{customer_name}and{review_link}
—
Import Tools
Trustie includes tools to bring in content from other plugins and clean up your review data:
- Import Testimonials — automatically detects testimonials from Strong Testimonials, Easy Testimonials, and Starter Templates. One-click import with the option to keep or remove originals.
- Convert Comments to Reviews — turns existing WordPress product comments into proper WooCommerce reviews with a configurable default star rating.
- Sync Product Ratings — recalculates average ratings and review counts across all products.
