By default, Perkie calls your loyalty units “points.” That’s a perfectly fine name — but it’s also what every other loyalty programme calls theirs. Renaming your currency is a small change that can make your programme feel genuinely yours.
“Earn 50 points” is fine. “Earn 50 stars” is memorable. “Earn 50 beans” at a coffee shop is delightful. The name you choose, combined with an icon that matches, turns a generic loyalty system into something that feels like it belongs to your brand.

Where to find it
Go to Tracksies > Perkie in the left sidebar. The General tab is the first tab on the page — currency settings are right at the top.

The three settings
Currency Name (Singular)
This is the name for a single unit of your currency. It appears wherever the count is exactly 1:
> “You earned 1 star”
> “You have 1 gem remaining”
> “Redeem 1 credit for a discount”
Set this to whatever word you want customers to see. Keep it short and simple — one or two syllables works best.
Currency Name (Plural)
This is the name for any quantity other than 1. In most cases, it’s just your singular name with an “s” added:
> “You’ve earned 250 stars”
> “Your balance: 1,500 gems”
> “You need 100 more credits to redeem”
If your singular name already works as a plural (like “cash” or “gold”), just enter the same word in both fields.
Currency Icon
Click anywhere on the icon picker to open it. Icons are organised into four categories:
- Rewards — stars, trophies, medals, hearts, crowns, ribbons, gifts, and similar celebratory symbols. A great fit for most loyalty programmes.
- Shopping — bags, baskets, tags, carts, receipts, and commerce-related icons. Good if you want a shopping-oriented feel.
- Status — badges, flags, shields, and rank symbols. Works well if your programme has a strong tier or achievement focus.
- Nature — leaves, flowers, flames, snowflakes, suns, and organic shapes. Useful for stores in food, wellness, beauty, or sustainability.
Click any icon to select it. The preview updates immediately so you can see how it looks before saving.
Once you’ve chosen, click Save Changes in the bottom right corner of the page. Your new icon and name will appear everywhere Perkie displays loyalty information.

Where your currency name and icon appear
Once you’ve saved, your custom name and icon show up across the whole store:
- Product pages — the earning badge shows “Earn X [your name]” next to each product
- Cart — a summary badge shows the total points the current cart will earn
- Checkout — earning summary and the redemption option both use your name
- My Account — the Perks & Rewards tab shows the balance, tier progress, and transaction history using your name throughout
- Emails — all six Perkie notification emails (points earned, redeemed, expiring, tier achieved, referral reward, birthday) use your currency name in their subjects and bodies
- Admin — the Perkie settings page and customer profiles in Tracksies HQ also use your name
You don’t need to update anything else — the name and icon are stored centrally and pulled in everywhere automatically.

Ideas by store type
Not sure what to call your currency? Here are some ideas:
| Store type | Singular | Plural | Icon idea |
|---|---|---|---|
| Coffee / cafe | bean | beans | fa-mug-hot |
| Jewellery | gem | gems | fa-gem |
| Pet store | paw point | paw points | fa-paw |
| Bookshop | page | pages | fa-book-open |
| Florist | petal | petals | fa-seedling |
| Fitness / wellness | rep | reps | fa-dumbbell |
| Fashion | token | tokens | fa-tag |
| Skincare / beauty | glow | glow | fa-sparkles |
| General retail | star | stars | fa-star |
| Any store | credit | credits | fa-coins |
These are just starting points — use whatever feels natural for your brand and your customers. The right name is the one that makes sense in a sentence like “Earn 50 [name] on this order.”

A quick note on tone
Your currency name shows up in automated messages like “You’ve earned 250 stars!” — so it should sound natural in that context. Say it out loud before you commit. “You’ve earned 250 loyalty-reward-units” is technically accurate and completely joyless. “You’ve earned 250 stars” or “You’ve earned 250 beans” is the kind of thing that makes someone smile and remember your store.
Pick something that feels natural for your brand. The more specific it is to you, the better.
