Preset Templates

Squizzie comes with a set of pre-built report templates that give you a polished, ready-to-go report in one click. Pick a template, and Squizzie automatically selects the right data sources, tiles, and charts — all you need to do is set your date range and hit export.

Why This Matters

Building a report from scratch is powerful, but sometimes you just want something that works right now. Templates give you a professionally structured report without having to think about which metrics to include or how to arrange them. They’re designed around the questions store owners actually ask — “How are sales going?”, “Who are my best customers?”, “Is my marketing working?”

And here’s the thing: templates are just starting points. Once Squizzie creates a report from a template, you can customise every aspect of it — add tiles, remove charts, rearrange pages, change the design. Think of templates as a head start, not a locked-in format.

Before You Start

  • Make sure the Squizzie feature is enabled in Tracksies > Settings > Features
  • Check which Tracksies plugins you have active — some templates require specific plugins (noted below)
  • If you want branded PDFs, set up your logo and colours in Tracksies > Designer first

Available Templates

Executive Summary

Type: Summary | Requires: WooCommerce

A clean, high-level overview of your store’s performance. This is the report you send to your business partner, your accountant, or anyone who wants the headlines without the detail.

What’s included:

  • Revenue (with comparison badge)
  • Orders (with comparison badge)
  • Average Order Value
  • Sessions
  • Conversion Rate

Each metric is shown as a KPI card with a comparison badge showing the change from your comparison period. It’s designed to fit on a single page — quick to scan, easy to understand.

Best for: Weekly or monthly check-ins, board updates, stakeholder reporting.

Sales Performance

Type: Detailed | Requires: WooCommerce

A deeper look at your sales data with tables, trends, and product insights. This is the report you use when you want to understand what is selling, not just how much.

What’s included:

  • Order volume and revenue trends (chart)
  • Refund rates and amounts
  • Top 10 products table (by revenue)
  • Low stock alerts
  • Revenue by category breakdown
  • Order status distribution

Best for: Monthly sales reviews, inventory planning, product performance analysis.

Customer Intelligence

Type: Detailed | Requires: WooCommerce + Tracksies HQ

A customer-focused report that brings together segmentation, behaviour, and engagement data. This one shines when you have Tracksies HQ running — it pulls from the customer profiles and badge system to give you a real picture of who your customers are.

What’s included:

  • Customer segments breakdown
  • Badge distribution (VIP, At-Risk, New, etc.)
  • At-risk customer analysis
  • Customer interactions summary
  • Review activity and ratings (if Trustie is active)
  • Repeat purchase rates

Best for: Quarterly business reviews, customer retention planning, understanding your customer base.

Marketing Performance

Type: Detailed | Requires: Google Analytics integration (+ Pipesie optional for leads)

A marketing-focused report covering traffic, conversions, and lead generation. If you have Pipesie active, it also pulls in lead pipeline data — otherwise it focuses on traffic and conversion metrics.

What’s included:

  • Traffic overview (sessions, users, pageviews)
  • Conversion rate trends
  • Traffic sources breakdown (organic, paid, social, direct, referral)
  • Lead generation metrics (with Pipesie)
  • Top landing pages
  • Campaign performance (if UTM tracking is configured)

Best for: Marketing team reporting, campaign reviews, understanding where your traffic comes from.

Custom Report

Type: You choose | Requires: Nothing specific

Start with a blank canvas. You pick the report type (Summary, Detailed, or Comparison), select your own data sources, and build the layout from scratch using the page builder.

This is the option for when none of the presets quite fit what you need — or when you want to combine metrics from multiple areas into a single report (say, sales and customer data and marketing all in one document).

Best for: Unique reporting needs, cross-functional reports, when you know exactly what you want.

How to Use a Template

  1. Go to Tracksies > Squizzie > Reports
  2. Click New Report
  3. You’ll see the template picker — visual cards showing each template with a preview of what you’ll get
  4. Click the template you want
  5. Give your report a name
  6. Click Create

Squizzie creates the report with all the template’s tiles, charts, and data sources pre-configured. You’ll land in the page builder where you can review the layout, adjust the date range, and either export straight away or customise first.

Customising After Creation

Once a report is created from a template, it’s yours to modify. There’s no link back to the original template — it’s a fully independent report.

You can:

  • Add or remove tiles — browse the tile picker to add metrics the template didn’t include, or remove ones you don’t need
  • Add or remove charts — swap chart types, add new visualisations, or simplify by removing charts
  • Rearrange the layout — drag tiles between rows and pages, adjust column widths
  • Add or remove pages — the template gives you a starting layout, but you can add extra pages or trim it down
  • Change data sources — tick or untick data sources to expand or narrow what’s available
  • Adjust the cover page — change the style, colours, or featured image (see our Cover Pages guide)

Your customisations are saved with the report. The next time you open it, everything will be exactly as you left it.

Which Template Should I Start With?

Not sure which one to pick? Here’s a quick guide based on what you have installed:

If you only have WooCommerce:
Start with Executive Summary for a quick overview, or Sales Performance if you want more detail. Both work with just WooCommerce — no extra plugins needed.

If you have WooCommerce + Tracksies HQ:
Try Customer Intelligence. The customer segmentation and badge data from HQ makes this report really shine. You can always create an Executive Summary or Sales Performance report as well — they’re not mutually exclusive.

If you have analytics set up:
Marketing Performance is the one to try. Add Pipesie for lead tracking data if you want the full picture.

If you have the full Tracksies stack:
Start with whichever template matches your most pressing question, then build a Custom Report that pulls from everything. With all the plugins active, you’ll have access to every tile and data source Squizzie offers.

Common Questions

Can I create my own reusable templates?
Not at the moment — the preset templates are built in. But since you can duplicate any report (hover over it in the report list and click Duplicate), you can effectively use a customised report as your own template. Build it once, duplicate it whenever you need a fresh copy.

What happens if I don’t have a required plugin?
If a template requires a plugin you don’t have (like Customer Intelligence requiring Tracksies HQ), the template card will show you what’s needed. You can still select it, but the tiles that depend on the missing plugin will be greyed out. You’d want to install the required plugin to get the full value from that template.

Do templates update when Squizzie is updated?
The preset templates may be improved or expanded in future Squizzie updates, but this won’t affect reports you’ve already created. Your existing reports are independent — they keep whatever layout you’ve set up, regardless of template changes.

Can I reset a report back to its original template?
There’s no “reset to template” button, but you can create a fresh report from the same template and start again. Your original customised report won’t be affected — you’ll just have two reports.
