Headers & Footers

Every content page of your Squizzie PDF report can have a header, a footer, or both. These sit above and below your report content on every page — except the cover page, which has its own separate design.

You get full control over what appears in your headers and footers, how they look, and whether individual reports use different settings from your defaults.

Layout Styles

There are two layout styles to choose from:

Minimal

A clean, borderless layout. Your header and footer elements sit directly on the page with no background — just the content itself. This works nicely when you want a professional, understated look that lets the report data do the talking.

Bar

A coloured background bar that stretches across the full width of the page. You choose the bar colour and the text colour separately, so you can match your branding or create contrast. This is great for making your headers and footers visually distinct from the report content.

Three Zones

Each header and footer is divided into three zones: Left, Centre, and Right. Each zone can hold multiple elements — so you might have your logo on the left, the report title in the centre, and page numbers on the right.

You can leave any zone empty if you don’t need it. Squizzie will handle the spacing automatically.

Available Elements

You can place any of these elements into your header and footer zones:

  • Logo — Your business logo from Brand Hub
  • Site Icon — Your WordPress site icon (favicon)
  • Business Name — Your business name from Brand Hub
  • Report Title — The name of the report being generated
  • Date Range — The date range the report covers
  • Generated Date — The date the PDF was generated
  • Page Numbers — Current page and total page count
  • Free Text — Whatever you like — a tagline, a disclaimer, a department name

Mix and match to suit your needs. Most people find that less is more — a logo and page numbers often do the job beautifully.

Setting Your Defaults

Your default header and footer settings live in the Designer:

  1. Go to Tracksies > Designer
  2. Open the Squizzie tab
  3. Find the Header and Footer sections
  4. Choose your layout style, pick your elements, and arrange them across the three zones
  5. Save

These defaults will apply to every Squizzie report unless a specific report overrides them.

Dividers

You can add a divider line between the header and your report content, and another between the content and the footer. For each divider, you can:

  • Enable or disable it independently
  • Set the colour to match your branding
  • Set the position — below the header, above the footer, or both

A subtle divider can really help separate the navigation elements from the data, especially with the Minimal layout style.

Per-Report Overrides

Sometimes you want one report to look a bit different. Maybe your monthly board report needs a more formal header, or your daily sales snapshot doesn’t need a footer at all.

Each report can override the global header and footer settings. When editing a report, look for the header and footer override options. Any settings you change there will apply only to that report — everything else keeps using your defaults.

Common Questions

Can I have a header but no footer?
Absolutely. Just leave the footer empty in your settings (or disable it for a specific report). Same goes the other way — footer with no header is perfectly fine too.

Can I put the logo in the footer?
You can! The logo element is available in both the header and footer zones. Pop it wherever it works best for your layout.

Can I use different headers on different reports?
Yes — that’s exactly what per-report overrides are for. Your defaults cover most reports, and you customise individual reports as needed. You could have a minimal header on your daily reports and a branded bar header on your monthly summaries.
