Special Dates rewards customers on the dates that matter to them. A birthday is one, but it could be a wedding anniversary, a pet’s birthday, a graduation, or anything else your store wants to celebrate. You set up each date, customers add theirs in My Account, and Perkie sends the reward every year.
—
Why It Matters
Most loyalty rewards are about the store: spend this, earn that. A date reward is about the customer. It arrives because they told you something about their life, and you remembered.
It also brings people back at a time they’re already in the mood to treat themselves.
—
Before You Start
- Switch on Personal Dates. Go to Tracksies > Settings > Features, and on the Perkie tile switch Personal Dates on. It starts off.
- Customers only receive date rewards while they’re members of your rewards programme.
- The reward email is sent through Tracksies HQ. Without HQ, points and coupons are still issued, but no email goes out.
—
The Steps
Step 1: Set up your dates
- Go to Tracksies > Perkie and click the Earning tab.
- Scroll to Annual Date Rewards.
- Click + Add date reward, or Edit on a date that’s already there.
When Perkie was first activated, it set up a Birthday date for you: 500 points on the day. You can edit it, switch it off or delete it.
—
Step 2: Fill in the date
The Personal Date window has these fields:
- Label: what customers see, such as “Wedding anniversary” or “Pet’s birthday”. Your terms page and emails use it too.
- Slug: a short internal name, lowercase with underscores, such as
pet_birthday. - Enabled: switch a date off without deleting it.
- Capture mode: Month + day, or Month only if you only need the month.
- Icon: shown next to the date in My Account.
- Reward type: Points or Coupon, and the Reward amount.
- For a coupon: Coupon type (Fixed cart discount or Percent discount), Coupon expiry (days), where 0 means it doesn’t expire, and Stackable, which lets it combine with other coupons. Stackable is off to start with.
- When to fire: see below.
- Email subject and Email body: fill these in to give this date its own words, or leave them blank to use the Date Reward email from the Emails tab.
Click Save when you’re done.
—
When to fire
| Choice | When the reward is sent |
|---|---|
| On the date | On the day itself |
| Within 3 days either side | Three days before the date |
| 1st of the month | On the 1st of that month. If the customer adds their date later that month, it’s sent on the next daily run. |
A Month only date is always rewarded on the 1st of its month.

What customers do
Customers add their dates on the Points & Rewards tab in My Account, under Your Special Dates, then click Save dates. Only the dates you’ve switched on are shown.
When you have dates switched on, your join screen tells people about them, for example “Rewards on your Birthday and Pet’s birthday”.
—
How Rewards Are Paid
- Once a year for each date. A customer with two dates set up gets two rewards a year.
- Points go straight onto their balance, labelled with the date’s name.
- A coupon is locked to the customer’s email address and can be used once. It shows as a Special date tile under Your rewards in their cart, at checkout and in My Account.
- 29 February is rewarded on the 28th in years that don’t have one.
—
On Your Terms Page
Your programme terms page gets a Special dates section, describing each switched-on date that pays something, in your own words. For example, “Birthday: 500 points, on the date.”

Common Questions
Can I have more than one date?
Yes, as many as you like. Each one has its own reward, timing and email.
Does a customer have to add every date?
No. They add the ones that apply to them. A customer without a pet won’t add a pet’s birthday.
What if a customer adds their date after it has passed this year?
They get the reward next year. With 1st of the month, adding the date later in that same month still gets them this year’s reward.
Can I send different words for different dates?
Yes. Fill in the Email subject and Email body on that date. Leave them blank to use the Date Reward email from the Emails tab, which names the date.

If Something Goes Wrong
A customer didn’t get their reward.
Check that Personal Dates is on, that the date is Enabled, that the customer has saved that date in My Account, and that they’re a member of your rewards programme. Then check the When to fire setting, because the reward may be due on a different day from the date itself.
The reward arrived but no email did.
The email needs Tracksies HQ. Also check that the Date Reward email is switched on in the Emails tab.
The dates don’t appear in My Account.
Check that Personal Dates is switched on and at least one date is Enabled.
