Reward Tiles

Signed-in members see their rewards as tiles: the coupons they already hold, and the deals they can claim with points. One click puts a tile on the order. A tile that can’t be used yet stays in view, greyed out, and says what’s missing.

—

Why It Matters

A reward a customer has forgotten about is a reward that doesn’t bring them back. Coupon codes in old emails get lost, and a points balance on its own doesn’t tell anyone what it can buy.

Tiles show every reward at the moment the customer is about to pay, and they show what’s close: “50 more points” is a reason to come back.

—

Who Sees Them

Signed-in customers who have joined your rewards programme. Guests, and customers who haven’t joined (or haven’t accepted your terms, when you require it), see no tiles.

Tiles need Redemption switched on at Tracksies > Settings > Features.

A page that shows a member’s tiles is kept out of page caches, so a cached copy never shows one customer’s rewards to another.

—

Where They Show

  • In the cart, classic or block
  • At checkout
  • On the rewards page and the dashboard in My Account
  • Anywhere you place the Rewards block, the Bricks Rewards element, or the [perkie_coupons] shortcode. See Shortcodes & Blocks.

The cart, checkout and rewards page always use the standard layout: a grid, with every tile. The block and the Bricks element let you choose (see below).

—

What’s on Them

Tiles sit in two rows.

Your rewards

The coupons the customer already holds. Each tile says what kind of reward it is and what it’s worth, like 15% off:

  • Referral thank you: from a referral
  • Survey prize: from a survey or prize draw
  • Offer: from an HQ-Based Offer
  • Special date: from Special Dates
  • Reward: any other reward, including coupons bought with points
  • Birthday: older birthday coupons only

Spend your points

The stepped deals you’ve set up on the Redemption tab, ready to claim with points. See Continuous and Stepped Redemption.

—

Greyed-Out Tiles

A tile that can’t be used yet is greyed out and says why:

  • Spend $20 more (with the amount still needed), when the reward has a minimum spend
  • 50 more points (in your own name for points), when the customer can’t afford a deal yet
  • Nothing to ship in your cart, for free shipping when nothing in the cart ships
  • Free shipping isn’t available for this address, when the address isn’t offered the shipping method

—

Applying a Tile

The customer clicks the tile and it goes on the order. Classic and block carts update their totals straight away.

A coupon that can’t be used with other coupons asks before it replaces the coupons already in the cart. Which rewards can mix is set by your Stacking Policy.

Claiming a deal

Claiming a deal from Spend your points spends the points and applies the reward in one step.

  • A free-product deal adds its product to the cart.
  • If WooCommerce refuses the coupon, the points go back and the customer sees WooCommerce’s reason.
  • A customer can only claim one deal at a time, so a double click can’t charge them twice.

—

Block and Bricks Element Settings

The Rewards block and the Bricks Rewards element have three settings:

  • Layout: Grid (default) or List
  • Show count: shows the number of tiles in each row beside its heading, like “(3)”. On to start with
  • Filter: Available only (default) hides greyed-out tiles, All shows every tile

The [perkie_coupons] shortcode has the same choices. See Shortcodes & Blocks.

Common Questions

A customer says their reward has disappeared.

Check that they’re signed in and have joined the programme. If the reward is there but greyed out, the tile says what’s missing. On a page using the Rewards block, the Available only filter hides greyed-out tiles.

Where did the old coupon cards go?

Tiles replaced them in Perkie 2.1.1. The old cards showed a category label, like “Welcome Gift”, and a personal message. Tiles don’t.

Can guests see tiles?

No. Tiles are personal to each member.
