Continuous and Stepped Redemption

Perkie can let customers spend points like money in a wallet, save up for fixed deals you set, or both. Fixed deals are called stepped rewards: a points cost and a reward, like 500 points for free shipping or 2,000 points for $20 off.

—

Why It Matters

A balance of 1,340 points doesn’t mean much to most customers. “500 more points for free shipping” does. Stepped deals give customers something specific to save towards, and they let you price each reward on its own terms rather than at one exchange rate.

—

Choosing How Customers Redeem

  1. Go to Tracksies > Perkie > Redemption tab.
  2. Under How can customers redeem points?, choose:

– Continuous: any amount of points at your redemption rate, like money in a wallet. This is the default.
– Stepped: customers save up to claim fixed deals you set up.
– Both: either way.

  1. Click Save Changes.

The Stepped Rewards section appears once you choose Stepped or Both.

Setting Up Stepped Deals

  1. In Stepped Rewards, tick Enable stepped rewards. It starts off.
  2. Click Add stepped reward.
  3. Fill in the deal:

– Enabled: on for a new deal. Untick it to pause the deal without deleting it.
– Points cost: how many points the deal costs.
– Reward type: Cart discount, Free shipping or Free product.
– For a cart discount: Discount type (Fixed cart ($) or Percent (%)) and Discount amount.
– For free shipping: Shipping method. Any (zero out customer-selected method) covers whichever method the customer picks.
– For a free product: Product.
– Minimum cart total (optional): the cart subtotal needed before the deal can be used.
– Label (optional): your own name for the tile. Leave it blank and Perkie writes one, like “Free shipping”, “$20 off cart” or “Free” and the product’s name.

  1. Click Save.

The deals table

Each deal is a row, with Enabled, Points, Reward, Min cart and Claims (30d), the number of times it was claimed in the last 30 days. Use Edit to change a deal.

What Customers See

Deals appear under Spend your points in the customer’s reward tiles: in the cart, at checkout and in their account.

  • A deal they can’t afford yet is greyed out and says how many more points they need, in your own name for points.
  • A deal with a minimum cart total is greyed out until the cart reaches it, and says how much more to spend.
  • Claiming takes one click. The points come off and the reward goes on together. A free-product deal adds its product to the cart.
  • If WooCommerce refuses the coupon, the points go back and the customer sees why.
