Free shipping is one of the rewards customers can spend points on. Perkie also looks after it in the cart: a free-shipping coupon a customer already holds goes on by itself when the cart qualifies, and free shipping bought with points comes off, with the points back, if the cart stops needing it.

Why It Matters
A free-shipping reward is often forgotten at checkout, and finding out after paying for postage that you had one is annoying. Applying it automatically means nobody misses it.
The other side matters too. Points spent on free shipping for a cart that turns out not to need shipping are points wasted, so Perkie gives them back.

Before You Start
- Redemption and Free Shipping must both be switched on at Tracksies > Settings > Features.
- Your store needs at least one shipping method. A store with no shipping methods shows no free-shipping tiles.

The Steps
- Go to Tracksies > Perkie > Redemption tab.
- Under Free Shipping, tick Allow customers to redeem points for free shipping.
- Set the Shipping Point Cost. It starts at 500 points.
- Choose the Shipping Method. Leave it on Any (zero out customer-selected method) and free shipping covers whichever method the customer picks, or choose one method to limit it to that.
- Click Save Changes.

What Happens in the Cart
Coupons the customer already holds
A free-shipping coupon the customer already has goes on by itself when the cart qualifies: something in it ships, and any minimum spend is met.
- If the customer takes it off, it stays off for the rest of that visit.
- A coupon that must be used on its own never goes on over other coupons.
- Perkie only takes off what it put on.
Free shipping bought with points
Spending points always takes a click. Perkie never claims free shipping with points by itself.
Once bought, free shipping comes off and the points go back when:
- nothing in the cart needs shipping any more, or
- the customer’s address isn’t offered the shipping method the reward is for.
Greyed-out tiles
When nothing in the cart ships, free-shipping tiles are greyed out and say Nothing to ship in your cart, and points can’t be spent on them. When the address isn’t offered the method, they say Free shipping isn’t available for this address.

Common Questions
Can I turn off the automatic part?
No. It’s how free shipping works from Perkie 2.1.1. It only ever applies coupons the customer already holds, and never spends points.
A customer removed free shipping and it came back.
It shouldn’t within the same visit. If they come back later, a free-shipping coupon they hold goes on again when the cart qualifies.
Does the maximum discount cap apply to free shipping?
No. Maximum discount amount caps discount coupons only.
